On Thursday, March 12, 2020, Broadway theaters were shut down by order of Governor Cuomo due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak. The world-wide pandemic created the longest span of time these renowned theaters have gone dark.
I documented these venues, performers, artisans, and the vacant theater district during this unprecedented lockdown. Images include performers at home rehearsing their craft in order to be ready for the reopening of Broadway theaters for audiences this fall.
