Mind Colors

In 2016, my best friend began to fade away from her friends, family, and society because of the stigma around her mental illness. Although these kinds of illnesses are very common in our society, the people who suffer from them are often judged harshly.

Mind Colors is a collaborative documentary project with people who suffer from psychiatric disease. The people portrayed in this body of work live in their own houses on the outskirts of Rome after having survived a terrible past and a long therapeutic rehabilitation path.

Mind Colors revolves around concepts of resilience, independence, and acceptance.
