Northern Gothic

Northern Gothic explores economic globalization's long-term effects on former industrial cities and small towns across America. Inspired by the "New Topographics" movement and Southern Gothic literature, it seeks to depict the uncertainty, isolation, and desperation felt across the United States.

Seen through the remnants of its idealized past, the crumbling infrastructure of parking lots, forgotten homes, storefronts, and factories are epitaphs for an America long gone.
